What are your favorite albums ever?
Why?
Post cover art as well and explain if it add to why you like it.
Abbey Road
Best Beatles album and the Beatles are the best. I don't know what else to say. They used the record's circular idea by combining all their songs into one basically. Powerful lyrics and vocals, perfect melodies, engaging idea.
The simplicity of the album cover adds to the album. It seems to say "this is who we are."
Appetite For Destruction
GNR broke the rules. They grabbed the remain of metal from the glam era and pumped it full of testosterone and heavy. The music is unapologetic and raw but still pristine and beautiful. The album blends genera and styles into a unique and powerful sound.
Original cover speaks more to the feeling of the album but its not necessarily "right". Something as ain't drug themed as the music might have been but then it would have been ironic.
Jeff Beck's Guitar Workshop
My favorite Jeff Beck album. It was my first exposure to Jeff and has consistently rocked my world. He combines techno idea with guitar rock. He used absurd sounds and his trademark shred to grab you by the collar and shake you. It really inspires me.
The cover is such a novel play on word. Guitar Workshops are like big group clinics that someone really good or famous conducts and you pay to be at to learn from them. Jeff turns this into a funny car workshop kind of image and it ads to the experience because it feels like there are two levels of dialogue. Jeff is playing these amazing songs you can learn a lot from but also there are some funny songs on the album. The first track and "Speaker Of The House" for instance.
Ain't Life Grand
This is Slash and this is the best of Slash. Created in and around the GNR era and the second album (this one) was done while he was clean and I think this is better than GNR in some ways. The music is more together, more refined, and I just feel like the people playing are more into the music. On top of that while there is a cohesive sound the style varies from track to track so greatly. One minute its hard rock, then acid rock, then southern rock, and then you're listen to Louisiana big band jazz. Its great.
I feel the album cover isn't that great but it doesn't hurt or add to the music because of how good the music is.

A concept album about exploring the universe, that honestly tears your soul from your body, and throws it into the stars.
The entire album is a constant wash of emotion and energy, with breaks that almost stop your heart.
A true masterwork of electronic music.
Disco is neat.
