Ya like you said the Background isn't transparent or anything. I would also do a closer crop...
This is great work for just because you were bored though...

Re-did transparency, gonna crop it later, maybe add some noise.
Disco is neat.

Actually, neither versions have noise, just three grunge layers on odd blending modes.
Disco is neat.
