In order to keep out lurkers, scavengers, and spiders, the guides and public programs sections are now hidden from members who have less than 10 posts or who have not been registered all of three days (which will prevent a member from spamming 10 posts to access content before a moderator can delete the spam).
This should allow authors to submit their content with less fear of plagiarism and the over-spread of trade secrets.
This should allow promote more content both by members who stumble upon this website and by members who get referred -- as I know many of you are aiming for a Chao.
So, content authors, I hope you take this opportunity to submit your guides and programs that you didn't want postless members to access.

We can tweak it if necessary. But it needs to be low enough that new members decide to stick around. Ideally, after the 10 posts, they will still want to make more. If it requires 30 posts, members might decide it's not worth the effort and just abandon altogether.

I think that ten is good. = for a start.
(For automatic posters. = this is not a spam.)
Subject: Headline = hello I am a newbie. Not good with forums or putting them in right place.
Subject: Gaia Online improvements needed surely with much.
The gaia online rate is high but the gold is low.
It is so inevitable. Selling items is good.
But then again they dropped the market price big time.
What happened that people went crazy?
(Selling gaia account free (but glitched) = image lost. = PASSWORD... (biosphere.) tell me if this does not work. --)
If not then sorry about that.
So anyway, Spirit-Beloved, feel free if one can to change that name.
Sorry, the avatar cannot change looks. Good for guy or girl pending. -.-
No arguments here besides asking who is a cross-dresser. =.= = strange.
General statements struck much sense.
This is why we are called newbies. . (Good for ZOMG.)
If you do fix the flash image glitch from a while ago = congrats.
Glitch happened around 2008 or so.
(The image got lost in the server as was refreshed on such, but good luck on finding the image animation.) Yes it is still usable.

Well. Ten seems okay, it was a little on the easier side, but eh.
This is my tenth.
I will try to stick around and participate in discussion of things, and not be a butt.
On a side note.
Those Chao thingies are quite cute.
I'd like one. 25postshereIcome.later.

In all honesty, ten is weak. I love having to reach a certain amount of posts/days joined, so long as the content is there. I don't mind being active in the community, that's what I look for anyway. Not just someone who says: "Here, have a bot, might get you banned, might not. No customer service here, once I drop it, you're on your own. No instructions, no guide, no updates. Holla!"
I'd much rather be a part of a community and make friends with people who enjoy doing the same things that I do.
I have been in several Gaia forums before, and they all cost a minimum of 50 posts to get into their basic section. It was usually 50 for the basic, 250 for the premium, and 550 for the elite. Basic being public to just above public bots/guides/discussions. Premium being whatever people thought was above basic but below elite. Elite was for anyone who thought their bot was the shit, or they just didn't want it flooded out to the public and ruined for everyone due to a leak.
Either way, I'll be here and happy regardless. Though, I do think 10 is a bit low.

If the community wants it upped, it can be upped.

Well, I made my account some time ago. And I came on today and the 10 post Was a little shocking before I saw it was only 10. Other sites I've been on wanted an impossibly high number. But I can do 10 no problem. I like the idea of the post requirement. Even if I'm not some one who is all that active(As in I forget about the site), or talkative, I can reach 10.

I was wondering about the post requirement. Definitely makes sense. I think the fact of it being 10 is good, for now. LG doesn't seem to be a very... populous community at the moment. We don't want to scare people off with a ridiculous amount of posts for them to actually get to what they want.

Ah, I didn't think about it like that. It looks like this site is really just starting to grow and/or thrive. So 10 for now makes sense. Looking at it from your perspective, 50 would be way too high right now. I'd say for a next step would be to go to 20 or 25, then eventually maybe 50. But yeah, what you said definitely makes sense.
The good old: "bring them here with /this/, and keep them here with /this/." routine. Works every time. Bait the hook with bots, reel them in with an awesome community.
Makes perfect sense

As a new member 10 posts aren't that bad, I mean compared to the amount of posts people commonly post up in gaia forum anyways.
