The purpose of the update was to reduce the amount of scammers we get on a daily basis. For example, I ban a person for scamming then they go and make another account. Takes them less than a minute to register and make a secondary thread.
Yes, I agree that the requirements is a bit too much and will cut down a lot of activities/transactions. Right now, we are just testing the requirements. There's another system that I had in mind.
Ps, members that does not meet the requirements is unable to post but can still see your thread.Last edited by Google; 04 Jan. 2011 at 08:43am.

I dont understand why we dont just IP ban. Apparently it is not hard at all to tell when there are dupe accounts on the same IP. Use it!
LG's resident grammar nazi.
Need warez? I can probably find it for you. Throw me a PM.
For all of my sales, if you refer a buyer to me and they make a purchase, you can recieve 5%

Maybe we just need a new marketplace. Instead of threads, a classifieds system and an auction system that comes with an ajax chat box for direct communication. Users cannot post an item in the classifieds until certain prerequisites are met and all chats in that chat box are recorded. Any trading outside of this area is to be considered out of LG's control.
Or of course we could always ban the trading of real life items just to be safe.

After reading all the comments, and suggestion, I like what is already in place. A real scammer wouldn't waste their time being a part of the community, and if anything this will raise activity in the site. Anyone who really wants to sell or buy would be willing to earn the right to do so.
