since it opened, there's been a large increase in Trolls, banned members, quitting members, and idiocy here.
I mentioned it before in another post, but I'll repeat it again here for the sake of supporting my request.
If I were to come here for the first time right now, I'd see this site as a pit where everybody just shits on each other, rants about it, QQs, then tries to get along with everyone again but they're rejected because they've already ruined their rep here so they decide to just fall in with the trolls and spread like VD on Aileen Wuornos' poop hole.
Then I'd probably proceed to go cyber fuck some chillunz and masturbate to furry anime because it'd be better than the first impression this site is giving me.
And none of it was this bad at all before the shitter happened. It's opened that Pandoras Box to "alright, I can make fun of people in public and sound cool to everyone because I can swear a lot and put offensive sentences together hurr hurr troll troll die die"
So I personally feel it's leaving, or going to leave, a very bad impression of the site to newbies, and I'd personally be a fan of closing it back up.

they should at least try it just for a month and see the difference in how many new users and more active members we get. It's glorified the JY to be bigger than everything else on the site, and the JY is a bad thing to have as an impression on people.

Im actually in agreement with the idea. I say we give it a chance and hide the forum for a while, like its not even there, and see what happens. If activity picks up, then its the right thing to do, and if it doesn't....then we try something else.

What I think we should do is try to eliminate flaming. It's not good in a site at all.
Not all at once, but perhaps start by having some easy, relaxed rules. Then, over a few weeks/months, slowly let them get more restrictive until flaming is restricted completely. When newbies come to the site, they don't want a horrid flame community. Nobody likes getting hurt on the playground.Originally Posted by ~Souleater~

Leaving it open sure solved the problem of spam, now we can have no posts, other than spam.
If the average user on this site was smart enough to spell, type without messing up capitals or using caps lock constantly. Then I wouldn't be worried about smart members quitting and the life of this board...
We only have 2 options :
- Keep the shitter open and the increase of trolls we have, and decrease of intelligent members of the site.
- Close it, come intelligent members will log in, more will sign up...
To close it would be illogical... Unless you prefer the troll's over the logical/intelligent members...
I know there are always trolls and spam, but at least when the shitter was closed it was semi-controlled... It is the only way of getting the site back to the way it was... I know you'll miss spreading useless posts to the world, you can morn in JY...
I do not understand the illogical logic of your logic...

Considering that most of the useres now dont even care about the site, its hard to sit here and say that there are any one who really worries.
The primary argument amongst the members of LG is that the Shitter is going to cause problems with the users who may sign up, and drive away potential members. Your choices are constricted and miopic.
To keep it open is as illogical as it is logical. There is no way to win in this situation. The fact is any activity is good for the site. There are always trolls, and there is always spam, there is no way to stop it. Closing it wont breed flaming in the JY or other forums, it will keep it generally the same.
Your argument goes round in circles you argue for and against the closing of the Shitter and choose no real side, if any one thus far has spread illogic and nonsense to the site, it is the very type of posts that you have made just now. You put good points but you never make your point and choose a side.
A lack of logic on your side. You have just been answered.Voted Hottest Male Member

lose: 4
gain: ?
That's the excitement of it. I think the shitter is really unattractive, and to have the main interest of the site now be the most unattractive interest, it's putting a huge damper on things. I think if we cleaned up a little bit and made it a bit more shiny (can't wait for 3.0) then we'd have a better chance of getting back up on our feet☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

I just couldn't help but notice that an admin agreed with the shitter being closed; however I also noticed that the shitter is still open .

haha we gain quite a few in a day alone. They're inactive, yes, but perhaps with one of the problems out of the way, we'll start seeing more activeness going around. Also if we communicate more with the newbies and make them feel more welcome, that'd be pretty cool too

As far as I remember, users cared about the site before the shitter was opened...
Everyone was overjoyed at the primary adrenaline rush of flaming fellow members, now they see that it is unnecessary and partly causing the site to fail...
The fact that you don't even care aboout general members experience on LG means you have no brains at all...
When members complain about something, it needs to be fixed. Or the amount of current members will drop like flies... We have been more than clear that we want this changed with a major list of members who agree.
How about a compromise, we close the shitter for a while, then at a later date, open it for members in a UG of the Admins choice.
It has caused members currently on the site to drive away from it... Point in case it will turn away members new or old...
Then do your fucking job and ban / temp ban them members that continue to flame / spam...
The point is, this site used to encourage the logical to post, now that theory has gone down the drain.
Basically your saying. Are you a Dumbass? Well I know the perfect site for you, LG. You can spam and flame. Plus you can get a rank and premium hack for it.
Excuse me for thinking that plan isn't good...
The only logical side is to not pick one.
I keep hearing about a increase in Spam and trolling as well as a decrease in worthwhile posts... So I came up with a solution that makes sense and your retorting it with nonsense.
I would like the admins to be able to put the points together and make a good decision. Since I have no power to say either way.
You have some of the power necessary, but have chosen the wrong side that will produce general user satisfaction. Producing a lower amount of spam & trolling, more worthwhile posts and more intellectual / logical members...
I think its the other way, your saying we should encourage spam and trolling. I am saying we should stick to the old ways where members were happy and had fun here.

My only concern is making the general populous happy and keeping the peace. I encourage nothing of either side, I do not encourage spamming and trolling, as much as any other person as yourself would. Fact is, if people want it gone, then it must be taken away to see if it can stop the cancer that is being created.
