Al-Qaida link in failed plane attack
DETROIT – A Northwest Airlines passenger from Nigeria, who said he was acting on al-Qaida's instructions, set off an explosive device Friday in a failed terrorist attack on the plane as it was landing in Detroit, federal officials said.
Flight 253 with 278 passengers aboard was 20 minutes from the airport when it sounded like a firecracker had exploded, witnesses said. One passenger jumped over others and tried to subdue the man. Shortly afterward, the suspect was taken to a front row seat with his pants cut off and his legs burned.
The White House said it believed it was an attempted act of terrorism and stricter security measures were quickly imposed on airline travel, but were not specified.

First off, this is ridiculous. There is no tangable evidence that it is linked to Al-Quida except that some guy from Nigeria tried to light something on fire. One guy from a third-world country tries to make a statement for his country and it is immediately Al-Quida.

As far sa it being an act of terrorism, its pretty obvious that he sucks at his job or else he wouldn't have gotten caught and injured.

And that guy could have gotten those explosives onto the plane by the old fashioned method of putting into his anus, or by concealment in a secondary medium in either his carry-on or on his person.

I just simple say, he would be Nigerian.

Now I can't joke, "I'm Nigerian, we blow shit up." No surprise that he is Muslim though.

Wow...this doesn't help the way people feel about muslims at all...Also just because he's Nigerian doesnt mean anything..a white or black guy could just as easily do the same thing...This world is messed up
