This is true. The same reason there are more female nurses.

Once a field is "Male dominated" its hard for women to get in, even the ones that want in are treated as unequal. Its sad really. But then again some want it that way.

IT girls tend to be hot - IT guys tend to be... Well, I am sure you know xD

While this is probably true, it depends on the guy. Stereotypically, the guys in tech classes don't see much girl action, and therefore would be ecstatic to take their 'friendship' to the next level. I, however, was an odd man out. I was stoner first, techie second, so I never cared to hit on the chicks in any of my classes, nor thought of them as anything but a friend. But, before the stoner phase of my life, I had thought of IT chicks as relationship-worthy, as did every other guy in any of my IT classes. Literally.
So what it comes down to is, are they IT majors and are they virgins? If you answered yes to either, they're hitting on you.

Stereotypically speaking. One may be gay or summat.

From my personal experience of having both male and female friends (that all knew each other), a lot of the males like the females, and most of the females are clueless. So, it may seem one way, but it's really another. Take it from a guy (or two).
