That seems really lame. I'm sure it's probably for people who want to make money off their videos and youtube takes a cut of their profit.

If youtube starts charging to watch videos then they would have to pay the owners and posters of videos to keep their content, and no site is dumb enough to do that. How do you think the owners of youtube would feel if they had to pay the Chocolate Rain guy $100k? They would feel retarded.

If they start charging, they may as well allow porn, that way at least it would make sense.

I think the people that are making the videos are the ones charging cause not all videos have it only some and maybe youtube gets like 10%.

There has to be some kind of screening process where YT approves charging for the videos. If not, everyone would start charging for their videos out of greed.

As far as charging at all is concerned, its retarded, that is why they put advertisements in the most popular videos, to get revenue. And the screening process had better be vigorous. Like full movies, yes, bootlegged movies, yes, a squirrel pooping on a baby, maybe, but for anything else on youtube, as is more likely to happen, not a fat chance in Oprah's hell.

Seriously? come on people, you want to actually get money for making people see whatever shit you put on the internet? If it's so important, whore yourself out on a cam for the cash and put it on a porn site. period. And there was me thinking that greed on the internet had already hit the lowest level of the low.
