[Guide] Melee P2P 1-99
GamingGutter wrote:
Okay its NOT Done yet, probably 1/3 of the way. I got most of the hard part done, Explaining how to maximize the efficiency of your time, and earning the best experience. I have not included some things yet, However I also intend to include Minigames! I am not done with it yet, I do wish however for more users to be attentive towards the potential of this section so I am posting half of it now.

Over this guide I hope to cover great ways to train your Powertrain your Melee, Earn Experience while VAST sums of money, Finding the best monster to provide your level Clue, Earning Charms, Fighting with Slayer!, Performing quests for that extra little boost [Whether it is a weapon or experience or even skill!] , The Best Weapons to use in what conditions, and more!

First of all, This guide is intended for those who are at least semi-familiar with Runescape, around combat level 30-50 at least and having somewhat decent skill levels, from Agility to Woodcutting, and being familiar with somewhat populous areas like the major cities, and games. I also expect you to know how to make 100k-3mill to purchase some of the items required here. I will post MORE guides LATER on how to make the largest sums of money possible all the while training your precious thieving or agility or whatever it may be. If you need any clarification, which unfortunately I predict the vast majority of people will, POST DUDE, DON’T JUST SIT THERE AND READ.

Red Font = TIPS FOR MAXIMIZING EXPERIENCE!

Blue Font = What you NEED to wear under circumstances provided
Green Font = Powerlvling monsters ^_^
Yellow Font = Fast Cash Monsters

TIPS/EFFICIENCY

Requirements: In order to preform most of the activities in the guide you shouldn't be a pure. I have/will make accommodation's for those who are however. You must have a decent defense level for the vast majority of these options, even some of the powerleveling ones.

Armor: ALWAYS Use armors that protect against the monsters that you are fighting. For instance if you want to go to Zamorak Mages, Please wear Dragonhide FFS! It may not provide a large melee bonus, however Mages use MAGIC attacks, fairly obviously. If you are going to a monster with large slashing, chances are wear a chainmail, as it is SPECIFICALLY MADE to have blades slip across it. Otherwise, use The best Platebodies, Platelegs, Gloves, Boots, Helmets, and required weapons/Shields you can! [Most of this guide will promote the Glory aswell, due to its immediate use in most situations such as its status boost without requirements.] Some armors PROVIDE Strength bonus’s which further help your training. It may not seem like much but these almost all stack! [Fighters Torso provides best strength bonus that is cheapest. However you must play a monotonous minigame for literally ever. Barbarian Assualt…] Another useful booster I hear is the defender. It requires that you have a total of 130 levels between Attack and Strength, but it also provides EFFICIENT bonus’s. Con is that it takes money to get it, and time.

Pest Control Armor: I would HIGHLY recommend this; sadly I have no patience, so I did not receive this myself. Not only does it provide 10% attack bonus if you choose that path, You can also receive Mage and Range helmets to provide either 30% Magic bonus, or a 10% Range bonus. There are a few cons to this however. It does not provide the best defensive Bonus’s, if you aren’t powertraining on a monster with a weak attack, you will need to carry much more food. PLUS It literally takes like10-12 hours to get. It will save you a lot of training in the long run however; I don’t see many people exploiting this one.

Weapons: Most monsters have weaknesses, which you can exploit and hit between 10-30% heavier on from what I have heard. You can combine this weakness with an effective weapon and earn that one skill faster by 10-30% more than before! For instance, Yaks if you haven't heard of them have very low defense in general. This means we can powertrain on these like no other. HOWEVER what many people overlook is that they are weak to SLASHING attacks. You can so easily increase your 40k exp an hour to 55k exp utilizing this with a Whip, A Scimitar or any other slashing weapon. [Those are the fastest hitting so yeah I chose those.] Whips have ONLY slashing attacks. This makes them probably the best for overall leveling towards Yaks.

Invisible Item Boosts: I want to highlight these as they are less often overlooked, however still necessary to cover. Salve Amulets provide an ATTACK and STRENGTH boost of 15% Toward all undead monsters. That’s better than the Glory by far, and if you even want to go farther, there is the Salve Enchanted Amulet, providing 20% Boost against undeads! Another Boost that STACKS on top of that is the Black Mask, which Is WHY I strongly encourage doing slayer while training. This Mask gives 15% MORE to attack and strength during a slayer task. So when you get Ankous, or Mummies, or whatever it may be, You will be hitting approximately 135% BEFORE POTIONS! This can decrease your training time DRAMATICALLY!

Summoning Creatures: I do not know much about these, but UTILIZE THEM. I do not suggest wasting your time heavily researching them till after level 50 Summon, as before that they hit fairly pathetically. AFTERWARDS HOWEVER, You can have your summoned creature train your skills on top of what you already are making, in a certain skill! ( Depends on monster summoned.)

Usable Items: Super Potions, such as attack and strength cost a pretty penny, however are worth it at higher levels like from 60+! Also Zammy/Sara pots are useful for training depending on the purpose. (Slayer? Powrtraining on weak monsters? Etc.)

Quests: There are many quests I recommend doing for their Exp rewards, Area Rewards, Abilities, and Items. Such quests will be listed later, for their reward, and advantages.

Charms: I will not include the long list of what drops best charms Versus Cash rates, and how they together can make you money and stuff, However I will provide you with the Best Cash, and Best DROP rates for charms. These are ESSENTIAL to training not just your combat, but your overall skill set.

MAXIMIZING COMBAT TIME: I suggest that you surf the web, go on Gaminggutter or youtube, listening to music, Etc. While training any skill for a long time. HOWEVER, I want you to have runescape as a small window up front, clearly visible because believe it or not being AFK can cut you down to about half the experience per hour D’x.

EQUIPMENT

For this, most of these monsters you will NOT require strongest armors, etc. However, it is wisest to bring any of the following applicable to your situation.

Necklace Slot: Glories or Salve Amulets are almost always a Must as a necklace piece, as glory provides a strength bonus and multiple attack bonus’s, Salve Amulets provide anywhere from 15%-20% attack and strength bonus’s depending on which one you use (ONLY ON UNDEADS HOWEVER.)

Cape Slot: I recommend Obby Capes for their great defense, as well as Skill Capes for incredible bonus’s or a fire cape.

Helmet Slot: Usually a Berzerker or Dragon Med helm, sometimes a Black Mask, Depending on the situation, (Slayer assignment or random pwrtraining or money making)

Shield Slot: I recommend either the new Falador achievement shield for its prayer bonus’s if you plan on using prayer, a RUNE Defender if you can afford and achieve the feat of getting one, or antifire/mirror shields if you are fighting DRAGONS or BASILISKS.

Weapons Slot: I recommend most often either a Dragon Scimmy, A Whip, a GS, a Dragon Battle Ax, or the Barrows Spear Set.

Armor Slots: (Legs, and Chest) I recommend whatever provides the highest bonus against what you are attacking. Usually I would however recommend a Fighters Torso or a Obby Plate, for they are the cheapest virtually for their bonus’s.

Boots/Gloves Slots: I would recommend using the best gloves available from Recipe for Disaster quest Barrows gives a +12 strength bonus! For Boots I recommend The BEST armor boots you can afford, in my case Dragon. They provide a +3 or +4 str bonus.

Ring Slot: I suggest using Wealth at almost all times, however sometimes Rings of Dueling help you between slayer assignments. It really depends on your Situation, if you are in slayer Bring a Wealth and a RoD if you use Summona or just want quicker transportation.

NOTES: These are extremely low defense, easily attacked, drop charms SOMETIMES, and drop rune meds...

Fast Cash Monsters
The Whole point of these monsters IS NOT necessarily to train your stats, but instead to balance out training and BIG BUCKS making lol. I am going to use a recommendation factor for the current section as well.

Name: Fire Giants
Level: 86
Health: 111
Requirements: Somewhat high defense, and maybe a high hitting Slyaer monster.
Any Recommended Equip: Whip, Normal equips, A ring of glory
Best Training Location: CHAOS TUNNELS!!!
Exp Rate: 30-45k an hour
Cash Rate: 70-120k (Mostly from runes and herbs.)
Charm Drop Rate:1/3 Gold’s, 1/9 Reds, 1/7 greens 1/40+ blues ;P
NOTES: These are extremely weak in defense; however they pack a nice punch. I recommend these first because they HONESTLY help you in your summoning needs (levelwise), and they provide decent experience on top of being a slayer assignment.
Recommended:8/10

Name: Moss Giants
Level: 42
Health: 60
Requirements: Higher Strength level
Location: Recommended at BRIMHAVEN ISLANDS!!!, There’s 5 or 6 giants.
Suggested Equipment: Food, A Whip,
Exp Rates: 30-45k an hour, Depending on how long you can eat w/o running out.
Cash Rates: Depending on how many rannar seeds you get, I averaged ~78k an hour over 3 hours. I only take the seeds, runes, and rannars.
Charm Drop Rate: ¼ Golds?
NOTES: These are incredibly weak! They provide somewhat decent drops with all the ranarr seeds
Recommended: 8/10 for Recreation, or farming.

Name: Ankou
Level: 75
Health: 60
Requirements: Done Security Stronghold, and have a Salve Ammy (E) (For best results.)
Any Recommended Equip: SALVE AMMY (E), a whip, RoW, and best other items you can get, however I do suggest bringing bones-peaches tabs as these do drop NOTED items, making it easier to stay longer!
Best Training Location: Security Stronghold (level 4)
Exp Rate: 35k-50k an hour
Cash Rate: 80-130k An hour from noted Mith, Purr Essence, and alchables/ the occasional Rune Spear and High lvl Herb seed)
Charm Drop Rate: I Hear its somewhat close to ¼ Gold Charms.
NOTES: The Salve Amulet(E) on top of Super Sets, and Bones-Tabs Peaches ultimately maximizes BOTH profit and experience.
Recommended: 8/10

Name: Hellhound
Level: 122
i 116
Requirements: Patience to walk all the way there, Bones-Peaches tabs for max time, and a decent (70) level defence.
Any Recommended Equip: I recommend bringing super sets OFCOURSE, A whip, the best armor you can afford, and a glory.
Best Training Location: Taverly Dungeon
Exp Rate: 35-50k An hour
Cash Rate: It Really depends. I don’t pick up clues, however I got 3 per hour here, Making this place EXTREMELY profitable. (Potentially.)
Charm Drop Rate: These things LITERALLY are the best charm dropper. They drop like ½ Gold Charms, 1/5 Greens, 1/7 Reds, and the occasional blue ;P
NOTES: The profit from these is in the clues. They drop level 3 Clues and are not very high defense. These drop golds the most, probably helping people 99 faster than any other. I suggest you do these if you have a NACK for clues. Also recommended Bones-Peaches Tabs, as these drop bones.
Recommended: 9/10 FOR CHARMS AND CLUES.

Name: Green Dragons
Level: 79
Health: 75
Requirements: Anti-Dragon Fire shield, Higher Defense depending on route.
Any Recommended Equip: A whip, Anti-drag-fire shield, High-ish defense if you go Chaos Tunnels, Monkfish
Best Training Location: Chaos Tunnels (Northern Eastern Caverns.)
Exp Rate: 20k-30k an hour
Cash Rate: 52k+ Per Trip, 4-6 Trips achievable an hour. They also drop a few alchables.[200k-300k an hour]
Charm Drop Rate: 1/6 Green Charms
NOTES: You must have an anti-fire shield to deal with these. I suggest a whip because they are weak against slash. Super-sets recommended. Fill up with 14 Bones and 14 Hides, then use a glory to bank at edge, and restart. Probably the most common method of attaining fast cash under 500k.
Recommended: 9.5/10, This is probably the fastest cash for mid level players.

Name: Blue Dragons
Level: 111
Health: 105
Requirements: Watchtower quest for best exp, high-ish level defense.
Any Recommended Equip: Whip, anti-dragonfire shield, monk’s Super Sets
Best Training Location: In the OGRE’S CAVE after Watchtower quest, there is relatively few people there, and you can have your own dragon that spawns every 1-2 mins.
Exp Rate: 15k-30k an hour.
Cash Rate: 135k-250k an hour (NOTES)
Charm Drop Rate: Low
NOTES: These are located at Taverley Dungeon, The Heroes Guild Basement, and the Ogres Cave, however I STRONLY Suggest going to the Ogre’s Cave as it is more than less empty half the time.
Recommended: 7/10 These are somewhat stronger than Greens and are less $...

Name: Basilisk
Level: 61
Health: 75
Requirements: 40 Slayer, A slayer task recommended so you can maximize exp, SUPER POTS, Mirror Shields.
Location: Fremenik Slayer Dungeon
Suggested Equipment: Super Sets, A Whip, and a Mirror shield
Exp Rates: ~40-50k, ~10k Slayer
Cash Rates: 60k-90k an hour, Collect all Natures, Ranarr's, Seeds, and charms.
Charm Drop Rate: ¼ Green Charms
NOTES: Just bring a mirror shield and you should be fine.
Recommended: 7.5/10, They drop a fair amount of Natures, however they also take a while to reach, and they drop herbs.

Name: Vampire
Level: 61
Health: 45
Requirements: Priest in Peril, I dunno if Salve Ammy works…
Any Recommended Equip: Sara Symbol, a Whip, and foodz!
Best Training Location: East of Canfis
Exp Rate: 25-35k an hour
Cash Rate: 80k-130k I hear that their vampire dust sells for quite a bit.
Charm Drop Rate: Idk
NOTES: These are annoying as the leeches attack you.
Recommended: 7.5/10
