Making A Website
So, I am planning on making a small personal website.
I am wondering how I can register a domain and get it hosted, for free.
I remember me and my friend irl did this back when I was younger, basically it was free because the site was paid for by the ads on the site.
domains will never be free if you want a real yourname.com domain plenty of free hosts offer free subdomains, yourname.host.com
Well like I said those are not straight .com domains
The site does not have to be .com at all.
It can end in any way, I would just need to register a domain name without having to pay.
.TK, I have one but I found that it is useless since it's only a redirect URL or a masking URL.
I need something that is free, but not a subdomain.
I just need to get a domain name to use, it doesn't have to be a .com domain at all, but it can't be a mask or a redirect domain either.
Co.cc keeps telling me that I need to pay $4 for a year after I check to see if the url is available.
All of those are sub domains.. every single one.
You'll do better off by purchasing a domain name form godaddy and using the promo code "FUN3" or "FAN3" they both work, to knock it down to $7.49 for a 1-year registration. You'll have full control over it and it will be a .com. This isn't a solution, but advice from someone who's been through this before.
