Java?
I've been strangely attracted to java, do you guys think I should try it out?

I will still develop in the other languages also, vb, python and whatnot. But Java can be really useful.

Post what you think :D

Edit:

Im looking through it now, and Im kinda straying away. It seemed nice at first, but eh, I think Ill just work on C# Like chad says I should.

You guys can still help me out though -Blushes-

I personally don't like Java's syntax much, mostly because it's not a lazy programming language like Python, Haskell, etc.
#3
Yea, I was trying it a little bit, and the syntax is even hard to remember D:

The very reason I've stayed away from Python for so long :p I get frustrated with the syntax.
#5
It's a good syntax for lazy people. ;)
#6
I learned java first, all I really learned was basic shit. Nothing I could ever use.
#7
I like Java. It's a good language. I suggest learning languages that use OOP because then it's really easy to find the equivalent for it and there's really very few differences.
#8
The best language to learn at first is C/C++. Because it makes all the other languages look so simple! Hahaha

Now the debate is :

Java, Or C#.

With Java I have way more opportunities. I can make a load of money even within the first month of me starting to learn.

And C# is such a powerful language.

Im thinking about starting java in a couple days :)

After exams.

How can you make money with Java? Especially being a beginner at it...
#11
Learn C#. It's an amazing language. I need to learn Delphi next though.

Let me do a simple math equation. Runescape + Java + Bots = Loads of money. :D
And last time, when I just made a single semi advanced for the knowledge I had script in java, I made 30$ the first day :)

Im also going to learn C# this summer :)
Three months of summer gives me time to do alot.

Also: Delphi is amazing for virus programming :3
#13
Can't you make Runescape bots in any language though?
#14
You could, but there is a method in which doesnt control the mouse :)

And it simulates the keyboard.

Thus why it is more acceptable.
#15
I'm pretty sure you can do that in most, if not all, major languages.
#16
I told him last night you could probably do it in C# but he said he wants to make RS bots in java and make applications in C# which you can do both in one language.

@Riddle

LOLCODE
LOLPython

Some funny stuff man.
#17
Yea, im not making the whole client myself, but eh, im going to learn both of em :)

There is a client called RSBot which interprets scripts made by people, hence why im using java for Rs bot making, and I want to also learn C# for similar reasons.

@Chad: AHAHAHAHAH! That's hilarious! That's such an awesome language... hahaha
#19
Woah. Bringing back old memories. Rofl. Havnt touched this stuff in a long time. I liked it when i used it but iv since moved on. Just began to get better at other things that were more powerful.

You're always one step ahead aren't ya? :P
