Dead battery has started to take its toll
At first I didn't even care that my Ruby and Emerald both have dead batteries now, all it says is that "Clock-based events will no longer occur" so I was like "whatevz lol".

I just noticed though, I can't plant any berries now, they never grow :C

Mirage Island, Berries, and a lot of special pokemon events are now impossible to access.

Oh man, really? I'm going to look up online whether I can replace the battery easily, and if it will wipe my save or not...

Battery removal probably will. You need the current to maintain the save I'd imagine.

Well I think I'm going to buy one of those save-backer-uper things off of Amazon or something, you can plug your cartridge into one end and the other end is a USB you plug into your computer, and you can backup your save game onto your computer with it, and load new save games to the cartridge. It's awesome. They have them for GB/GBA games, and then for DS games you can use an Action Replay DSi to back up your games because it has an SD Card slot.

Might be a good idea. Also. Fuck. After work I was so tired I forgot to check for the cartridge, sorry :( I only go home once a week T_T

Where do you work that you only get home once a week?! I feel really bad for you. And it's fine, don't worry about it :) Just contact me about it when you remember to check for it.

Well I'm usually in my apartment because I go to university 1 hour away. I work saturdays during the school year, which is conviniently close by my actual house (with parents and all). I got off late today though so I rushed back instead of dropping by the house :( It's not too bad, helps keep some income going in the school year!

Man, I would be devastated if my games stopped working.
Luckily I sold em all back in the day.

Speaking of Gamestop, I really need to find one somewhere around me that sells Gameboy games so I can try to get the Pokemon games cheaper than on Amazon :(

I will be going to Gamestop sometime next week! We should totally go together!

Just kidding hahaha. :D

Gamestop won't be cheaper also I don't think they sell gameboy games any more. You could try garage sales but otherwise you're stuck with Amazon and eBay

Solid idea. I need to get one myself.

Oh man, good point. Dang.

Once I get a job, you know what I want to collect? Mint-condition Pokemon games. That would be a cool collection, probably at like $100 per game though.

$100 would be cheap. an unopened Red version is absurdly expensive.

Yeah, just re-checked Amazon. Ruby and stuff was like $150 unopened, all the way up to $300-$700 for Red and Yellow and Emerald and stuff.

Maybe I could just collect boxed with manuals and inserts and stuff, but still opened D: Hopefully a lot cheaper.

Most likely harder to find. What's worse is you're looking at prices at low point. Economy is shitty everywhere so collectible prices are down. In 5 to 10 years when you'd be able to afford these prices you'll easily be looking at double the cost.

I'll have to find an investor then :P If he gives me $2000, I'll be able to buy a set of mints for myself and then a set of mints for him, and then re-sell his in 5-10 years and pay him back double what he gave me :D

Too bad that wont happen hahaha. I really need to find a job :(

Yeah I wouldn't hold you're breath. You could get seasonal work at a place like Target and earn enough money in 90 days to get the funds you'd need. You won't do much else for those 90 days but you could afford your games at the end.

I would actually love to do that over the summer or something like that. My problem right now is that my parents refuse to let me get a job on weekends. Even if it's just Sunday or Saturday or something, they still say no. "Focus on school, not money!" so annoying. That's why I've been trying to find a job online, but so far I've been unsuccessful.

That actually make sense. I just suggested you work full time with one day off a week. When I last did that I went to work and slept. I never did anything else.

I feel like combing garage and estate sales would be a good way to pick up stuff. Possibly check the paper for when your air port sells off all the stuff they've confiscated too.

Oh that's cool, I should try that over the summer haha.

That's actually a great idea, I can't wait until there are more garage sales. Too much snow right now haha. And oh yeah, I forgot airports did that, I should look into that. Thanks!

At Disc Replay I saw an old school Gameboy Color and they have a copy of Pokemon Gold.
Was wondering if I should go buy that shit!

Probably if they are in decent condition. They are sort of on the cusp of being old enough to be really collectible and not yet collectible.

There's a way to fix it if you have fire red or leaf green and a trade cable. (This is in case when you give it a new battery it still doesn't have berries.)
Berry glitch - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
And how to change the battery.

Awesome, thanks a ton!

Now I just need to get a cartridge backer-upper :P
