A middle man is a user with a very high amount of trust. you send the middleman the account, he verifies it works, the other person sends the money and the middleman gives the user the account when the money is received.

Hilariously enough Omlett, I don't think this person was intentionally trying to impersonate lain. I think it's just a coincidence.
