My second floor apartment. Literally. Flooded.
Literally.

Got home at like 9pm with my date. Two inches underwater.

The fuck.

Like infinity hours later and I have industrial fans in my room and everything I own packed into two corners of my apartment. The guy below me has water coming through his light fixtures.

Oi... sleep now.

Damn, some bad luck man. Hope that gets cleared up.
Was it your first date with this girl? If so, not a great first impression, flooded apartment.

Are they going to reimburse you for inconveniences ? If light ever came out of my fixtures I'd probably think the world was coming to an end at first.

Yeah. But that wasn't the first impression, so it's fine. I'd spent the last 7 hours with her out and about. So I just got home. No telling how long it had been flooding. Open the door and all I hear is running water and my kitchen is two inches under.

Oh well.

The complex hired some carpet people and plumbers to come fix everything, but it'll take all weekend.

Oh yikes. That's doesn't sound good at all haha I remember when our shower pipe inside the wall busted and it took like 3 days to fix because we had no clue where the leak actually was...so much water all over the place

Only everything got damaged. Not as bad as when it happened in my house though. So I can deal.

Monday-ish, at best. I imagine I'll have to clean the shit myself after they fix the water damage.

Did any electronics/expensivethings/irreplaceable things get damaged?

No. My home has flooded three times before this, so I learned my lesson. I habitually don't leave things on the floor, unless they are water proof, so everything is fine, save water damage to wooden stuff.
