Meeting the Parents

So I've been persuaded by my girlfriend to meet her parents.
Her father already dislikes me. There were two incidents, one where he found some condoms in her drawer and another where he felt I was negatively affecting her grades.

I'm supposed to go over and meet the parents tomorrow.

I want to make a good influence on her father, but I'm already on bad ground due to him finding the condoms.

Anyone have any advice on not getting punched in the face when I go over for a visit?

(I already told him that though the condoms were mine, we weren't using them. I don't think he believes me)

But in all seriousness though haha, just be really polite and leave a really good impression on him. Make sure to have good manners, make a lot of small talk with the parents, and agree with them on as much as possible. Most of my friends' parents love me, and a few ex's parents still love me too haha.

Also, dress nice and use your manners. They don't have to like you. You just have to not be a shit. Engage them in conversation. Answer their questions in a way that makes you look good -- like how good your grades are, or how high your ambitions are, or how important education is to you, or how much you love your job, or how important you think family is, or what the fuck ever. Be interested in their interests, but don't neglect your girlfriend's attention.

Overall, they're human too. Treat them well and use basic social skills and mannered politeness, and you'll be fine.

A friend of mine talks to her ex's parents on a regular basis and doesn't even talk to her ex anymore at all.

I love meeting parents.
My current girlfriend's parents are the best.

Just be yourself and don't look ghetto.

Agreed with game. Dress nicely, shave if you need to. Make sure you look well groomed and shiz. You definitely want to be polite, but another way is to figure out a common interest you may have with her father. The father will be more defensive, while the mom will just look to see if you're a hoodlum or a nice person. If you can maintain a decent conversation with her father, you'll get the ground running.

Yes it will be intimidating at first, but find out from your girlfriend if he has any interests that you might be able to relate to. If asked, ensure that you present yourself responsibly, IE taking school serious, looking for internships (dependant on how old you are) etc.
