People don't realize until they are in and there is no way out that its all bullshit. Everything that they promise is a lie, everything that they say you will get to do (mostly) is complete bullshit. The only thing I got to do that I was promised was deploy and shoot some cool shit. Everything else was a lie. Even the cake.

If you want the truth, you ask someone that has been there already; don't believe the commercials, don't believe the recruiters beause all of it is lies. Like I won't lie to anyone that wants to join. I will tell anyone the truth about the military, from my experience.
