Skype vs MSN
It seems like people prefer skype over msn recently and I cant see why. Can someone shine some light on why its better?

A lot of people on LG used to use MSN, and it was great because everyone used it. Then everyone started using skype in their personal lives to chat with people and stuff over webcam, so then it became easier to just start talking to people over Skype. Besides voice chat and video chat and stuff it doesn't have much over MSN, besides being newer and having more users now. I use it now because most people have shifted over, and you can't find many LGers or people from forums and stuff on MSN anymore, they're mostly on skype now.
Isn't MSN being shut down anyway?
Skype was bought by Microsoft anyway, so they are both run by the same company. Considering MSN shutting down and Skype isn't, might as well switch to Skype. Also considering the better audio-only and video chat.

I didnt know they were switching, I hope they shift over all my contacts to skype.
I don't think they are merging the two. I think MSN is just shutting down entirely. So I don't think your contacts will transfer.

Nah, you can merge your live account and your skype, but that's it...
MSN has custom emotes that I can't live without, so I will be committing suicide when msn goes down
I don't know, honestly. They're pretty much the same thing, except MSN has less-lame emoticons
