Am I doing the right thing?
My "best" friend broke up with his girlfriend two days ago, at night, when me and him were hanging out and apparently he didn't want to tell me for whatever reason. The next day I received a message from his ex-girlfriend asking if I know that it was going to happen and I was completely in shock because I was just finding out.
Anyways, I've been talking to her since and I have been counseling her to hopefully make her feel better.
I am not trying to gain anything out of this but I strongly disagree with how he broke up with her.

One, they dated for over a year now. She is the best thing that has ever happened to him, for as long as I have known him he only had relationships that lasted days to a few weeks. This girl is simply amazing. And he broke up with her for some ugly piece of ass that he met at a party last saturday.

So is it wrong that I am talking to her in hopes of making her feel better without him?
Is it wrong for me to be mad at him for this shit?

I don't know. :EmoteWaitWhat:

1. There is nothing wrong with you being mad at him for being retarded.
2. You don't need any "friends" who behave like that.
3. People need others to comfort them. It's only natural. As long as you're not making any overt moves, the girl will realize it too (unless she happens to be dumb.)

Oh no, she's very smart. I wish I could have had her as a girlfriend inb4 him but that wouldn't have been possible anyways.
I really am not making any moves other than just being a decent friend and telling her that she will be fine.
and he has always done shit like this, it gets really annoying. ):

It's only wrong if you manipulate the situation into picking her up on the rebound.

haha, it's OK then I guess. It's just that girls can sometimes get wrong impressions about stuff you might be doing, is all I'm pointing out. If it's OK by her then no prob. :)

sup coffin, long haul no see. and yes. HS romance = serious business.

Well I would hope she didn't think I am trying any of that shit. That would be bad. ): I am not like that. I am just too nice and I try to save every woman I can. Even if they are evil like Jenny. (ohahahahahahahaha, I went there. :3)

It did start in high school I believe. Senior year. I dunno, I did that once and it turned out pretty bad so it won't happen again. Lmao.

Some guys dont realize how sweet the candy they have is then they abandon it for something new, which will always end bitterly. If he couldnt see how wonderful she was then did he truly deserve her? Shes obviously better than him in the commitment sense and in her trustfupl persona. To quote a song; "you dont know whatcha got til' its gone." and you should not feel guilty for comforting her wounded heart. I commend you, and I hope she feels better.

Ditch the douche, befriend the beauty.

Why "best"?
Also, Why not ask him for his side of the story?

Fuck no man, you're doing the right thing.
You know the saying "If you really love something you have to let it go"?
That very very rarely actually applies to life, but this is one of those situations.
Yeah, he's your best friend. But what he did was wrong. The reason why his relationships usually last a short amount of time is the same reason he left her for this biddy he met last saturday.
You're not wrong for being mad. Being there for HER is the best thing you can do right now.
If you gain something from it, good. Just remember, never date or fuck your best friends ex.
And even if you did, I'm sure he wouldn't exactly care at this point. But still.
The way I see it, she's the victim of the situation on one level or another, so be there to comfort her.
Still be his best friend, don't take sides or anything, but make sure she knows you're there and don't give up on that.

Shit, if I was given the chance to date her, I don't know what I would do to be honest. I've never had a girlfriend and having the possibility of having one would bring the worst out in me. ):
But sweet, I was hoping I was doing the right thing. I honestly don't want sex out of this, that would be cruel sex and it would be cold/no emotion. Which I don't like that kinda sex.

ANYWAYS, off the subject of sex, she actually mentioned a similar quote to that when I was talking to her. Awkward!
And yeah, I told her that I could be a good support system for her but never anything more than that.
