Debating install Linux

Which distribution should I install?

I'm wanting to install it on my piece of crap laptop that can barely run windows.

Go with Ubuntu or Mint (Linux Mint). Two newb-friendly Linux distributions that are really popular.
I personally like the both of them.

I agree with UnIntelligible. The package manager in Ubuntu will save you tons of time. But make sure to go back to the original Gnome interface. The new ubuntu interface is more trouble than it's worth in my experience.
