It's been active because of me.
Activity is indicative of the feelings of the board, and if you take the initiative to create it. I made a few dozen threads a day back in 1.0 just to make people post, and it worked, and others did the same thing. There doesn't always have to be point to a thread, especially in the JY, abuse that.
