I Sharpened It A Little Too Much..

Looks like you pixelated it, but I'm not sure if you have the knowledge to change the layer style and opacity yet.

Makes it look like brush stroked kinda. But i guess it's just the product of over sharpening. Anyways. You don't seem to be trying to make sigs as much as just pics.
Anyways
Try to mess with the layer settings , usually on the right. Normally set to normal, try fiddling around with those. Options like overlay, soft light, screen , etc..
