You don't have to be a member to get a ride home.
For drivers who bend the elbow too often on New Year's Eve, the American Automobile Association is offering free towing to get them and other people on the road home safely.
AAA will give anyone who calls a trip home between 6 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday. The Tipsy Tow service is offered on 10 days of the year, including New Year's Eve. Drivers, bartenders, restaurant managers and party hosts can call 800 222-4537 (AAA-Help) and ask for a Tipsy Tow. AAA will accommodate the driver and as many passengers as can fit safely in the tow trucks.
The trips, available in Northern California, Nevada and Utah, are limited to a range of five miles.
