Yelling at the top of your voice for hours on end, and if you piss off your DII (Drill Instructor Instructors) all night, usually at a tree or something.
I know, My grandfather served about 20 years in the navy... My cousin ( currently 26) is a DI. He is 6'2 well built.
Took for fucking ever.

Its not as fun as you would think. All it does is ruin your voice, cause you to be mad all of the time, and cause stress at home. Like this for example, my wife is also a Marine. I had duty last night, so I was here all night, hearing those stupid fucking recruits report to me all night while on firewatch, so when I got off today, I just wanted to relax at home and drink some soda, and play some Birth by Sleep. Its all I have left right now. My wife is supportive, so that's all that matters.

Really? I pictured it as being a stress reliever.
I believe he is in there because he answers these questions pretty fast and straight forward.

Its the total opposite. It just ruins lives. Most of the Marines that I work with have been divorced because of the job. It gets really hard to keep work and home separate, and sometimes you can't take the stress at home anymore. A stress reliever is like cumming. This is the equivalent of being on the verge, then stopping.

i was talking to him on facebook and he wants to be either a cop or a military cop and this came up.
he said he might not be able to join the army cause he's had a history of orthopedics or some shit like that

You have to have been a DI to be a DII, and the school to be a DII is twice as hard as DI school since you have to train DIs.

If the Army won't take him, the Marine Corps won't. The Army accepts almost anyone who wants to, even if they can't do some of the basic stuff.
