Okay... Here's a hint(you may be right though, hell if I know)

The wifi works perfectly fine, the speakers don't make a damn peep... except little sounds when it receives messages on TextFree.

I checked to make sure, that black piece is the "Wifi Antenna Cover"
Might your iPod be a 1st Generation?
EDIT: Nvm... those had it too....

The iPod 1st Gen doesn't have internal speakers.

If I buy the part that is missing(top left), will it help the WiFi? Someone in IM told me that it's that as well.

Mmmmm I don't think so.
I think in the 2nd Gen they replaced the metal with plastic so the Wifi wouldn't be inhibited.... so unless you want to cut out the metal and put plastic on.... you have to get the 2nd Gen.
