What size MacBook Pro should I get?
I can't decide between the 13" laptop or the 15" laptop. My Compaq is a 15", but still...I'm goin' to be lugging this laptop around with me whenever I head off to college. Sooo, for portability and flying purposes...I was thinking the 13". Plus, I probably won't be doing much gaming on it anyways. But I was thinking of getting it just so I can have an all around laptop, and possibly upgrading the RAM on it so it can handle the programs that the Engineering department supplies to students. What do you all say?

Get the 13".
#3
All right Thomas. I was lookin' at it, and I was just thinkin', there isn't much difference between the 13" and 15" which will affect me greatly so...might as well get the 13".

Yea, the only somewhat major difference is the 1440x900 resolution. And that is really close to 1280x800. So portability wins in this situation :D.

Or a PC.
Not a mac.

If he wants to get a mac than let him get one. If made a thread asking "What pc should I get" then suggest it. He clearly wants sturdy hardware, and if he had to run a program that was for Windows only, then he would boot camp.

Haha, that's the plan Stan. I already have a laptop running Windows 7, and I hate it. :( Plus, I am planning on dual booting Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on my Mac anyways, and I am doin' that for a reason. The 4 GB of Ram that comes preloaded with the Mac is a plus too, giving me more memory to dual boot with less lag. :)

Besides, I've always wanted a Mac. Never had enough money to get one though. So, here is my chance. And I feel that a Mac would be the best choice for college.

Windows Vista < Windows XP < Windows 7

I love Windows 7, personally.

I dunno, I may not even boot Windows onto my laptop. I may boot Linux, but I don't know anything about Linux to use it. :/

Uhm, why the fuck do I care? That doesn't answer the question that I asked in the original post. Way to try and boost the size of your e-peen.

Lol at the fact that YZZ and you are being narrow minded and not accepting that other people have different tastes in computers. Just because you find non mac hardware to work better for you does not mean that it is correct for another individual. So next time somebody says "should I get notebook a or b?" don't suggest something totally different. Because that clearly does him no good.

He didn't ask if he should get a pc. I need to spend some time at the Pogotribe to de-stress.

Fact of the matter is. I already have a FUCKING PC WITH WINDOWS 7. I have a desktop running Windows 7, a laptop running Windows 7, and a laptop running Windows XP. God damn. I'm askin' what size MacBook I should get for college, hop off my dick.

I also suggested a 15".

I have one and it is perfectly sized. :P

It would be perfectly fine if he had asked "What laptop should I get?" But he specifically asked if he should get a 15" Macbook pro of a 13". You didn't even say a specific laptop. You just said "pc", which leads me to think you are just saying that because you feel because you prefer a pc over a mac that means that the whole world should share that opinion.

I am sure they can find a pc (Laptop).

I didn't suggest a laptop because I know nothing about the situation, I suggested a PC because Win7 runs better than any OS I have ever seen before... It runs smooth and has never crashed (For me...)...

Exactly, key words are "For me." Because you've had a good experience does not mean that everybody shares that same experience. You have no clue what his experience with windows has been like. So next time take the logical path and factor in all parts of the equation.

I THINK YOU SHOULD GET A PC WITH WINDOWS 7

I think if they had as many problems as vista that they would have stopped advertising it by now...

I think that it is working well for just about everyone...
