Speaking of professional 8-bit music
Just discovered this.

I don't like the rapid-beat scratchy overlay that comes up every now and then, but the rest of it is pretty fitting for an intense 8-bit scene.

Remix of a song by larger band Dream Theater.

I love music with video game synths

I don't really like "full 8-bit" anymore; That was okay though.
("Mixed Chiptune"?)
2012 Singles | Kubbi
BLUENOISE | PROTODOME
Also, the thing that ticks me off the most in 8-bit's are the sounds from Super Mario... I have no idea why.
