Depends on what private server you play.
Sometimes,not famous maple will have litte players.
If famous maple will have much players.

It revolves around the popularity of the server. I prefer going to new ones because they have less lag then famous ones. v_v But that's my choice. Eventually, hundreds of players have joined and you can interact with them.
