All I took from this was that smoking calms you down for about 72 hours.
Smoking is a horrible habit though that can really mess with your health.
Smoking is a pretty stupid way to spend money.

I believe you're right that there are less in weed but it does have a different set of problems. The psych department from the university I went to just released a study on it where they argued that we didn't really know enough about it's effect to say if it was harmful or not but they felt that it was mentally addictive based on sample studies, the culture surrounding it, and what they felt was chemical evidence pointing in that direction.

There's a reason marijuana is used for medicinal purposes and cigarettes aren't, and like Flare said, marijuana isn't chemically addictive, but people can become addicted to anything.

Like Charles said comparatively weed is healthier than tobacco. Not smoking things compared to smoking things is still healthier by a lot. Weed isn't healthy and does have negative effects. They aren't as pronounced or immediately lethal as tobacco but taking the lesser evil of two when you are not required to do either is generally stupid.
I wouldn't say that, especially if you have a horrible disease and marijuana allows you to take the pain. I'd say weed would be better than nothing in this situation, but it's a matter of preference and depends on the situation.Quote:

What we do know is it's not even nearly remotely comparably as cancerous as cigarettes. But, it may be like 1% as cancerous. No telling.

You weigh the pros and cons of your decision. Look at the risks realistically and decide if the benefits are worth it.
If you're undergoing chemo, it's obviously worth it.
If you're suffering from depression, it's probably worth it (in conjunction with therapy).
If you're just experimenting, it's up to everyone to decide for themselves how important the sensation is to their life.
If you have literally no reason and not even curiosity, then I think you're weird but to each their own.
Point being, in none of these is the outcome bad.

If you are against using anything with any negative impact whatsoever, then enjoy your vegan-only water-only diet. Otherwise it's a pretty hypocritical stance to say that one drug is worse than another, when it's really not. You weigh the benefits. You drink caffeine because you like feeling awake in the morning, but you entirely ignore the toxicity, physical addiction, and withdrawal symptoms. Seriously ask yourself why. Because everyone else does it? Because you like the taste of your favorite drink? Because you like feeling awake in the morning?
It's all cost-benefit. And the cost and benefit are different for everyone. Saying "it causes harm so you shouldn't do it" is absolutely meaningless.
You need to prove that the cost outweighs the benefit. It does for many drugs, like heroin or meth. For lighter drugs like weed and caffeine, it's dependent on the person.
I, for example, do not drink caffeine. I couldn't care less about how tired I feel in the morning (I actually don't feel tired in the morning, because that is ironically largely caused by caffeine use). So the physical addiction of caffeine or the taste of caffeinated drinks (which usually come in caffeine-free alternatives) are not at all worth it.
