The rep system was flawed before and I noticed how people were whining about you deleting everyone's reputation so why not just give everyone 1/10th of the rep they have now. It would be closer to a clean slate and people wouldn't bitch about having none. It would also give people something to work for, most of us have 100's of rep and don't care about it anymore. Or we could restart completely, I like them both.
I support this decision.

Rep in very single forum I've ever been has never served any purpose other than popularity gauge, I see no point in touching it.

While it would bring rep closer to a clean slate, it would bring it further away from lining up with post count. The current system is an actual clean slate as there is a vB function to recalculate rep from scratch.
