First programming contest!
Welcome to the very first Logical Gamers programming contest!
This is a contest for fellow programmers through out LG!

This contest consists that you make a program in Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic 2008 (vb.net), or PHP / javascript, in one of these languages only.

The program you must make is a Gaia Online program. Very simple but you can not use someone else source code. Login that's fine. But the program it's self must be programmed by you alone. If found cheating you will be disqualified and you will get NO refund.

The program you must make is a very simple Profile Poster.

Program you must make: Profile Poster

Features:
- Custom Message
- Post on what ever profile you want
- able to tell if comment has been posted successfully or failed
- Single Account
- wait time of 65 seconds
- Able to tell if the profile is public or not
- Able to tell if the profile has disabled profile posting.
- Everything must be logged into a list box. (Keeping logs in other words)

Regulations:
We must be able to see the source codes to judge.
The code must be clean and simple.
The program must work fast but safely.
Must have your name on the program along with what language you created it in on a label or an about section of the program.

Killer but fair - NO PROGRAMMING TEAM OR STAFF CAN ENTER THIS CONTEST.

This contest is held so more members feel confident about programming.

Entry fee is: 15,000 LG gold. Send to this account, LogicalContests by clicking the "DONATE" button. In the comment section while donating put the language that you will be coding in and your username.

Example: Username: LogicalContests Language: Vb.net (2008)

Make a post on this thread with the same information.

If you are not going to enter and just going to spam the section saying, "I wish I knew how to program so I can enter" or some other BS that doesn't say you are entering it Will be considered spam and you will be INFRACTED
. It's in color for a reason.

There will be one winner of this contests. It will be the person with the best code, fastest working program, and cleanest code. You will get the max of what was entered.

Say 5 people entered and each person paid 20k LGG to enter you will get, 120k LGG when this contests is over.

Judging day is on Wednesday, 16, 2009. 2 days to complete it.

Judges, Chad, Sk8er, and Artificial.

Keep it logical

- Chad

add: Chad86047@yahoo.com
if you need any help.

PS: To any questions asking what to use if your using Visual Basic, you can use HTTP Wrappers. Ripper Wrappers or HTTP Wrappers. You're choice.

For the next programming contest can it be something not related to Gaiaonline or any gaming site? Just the coolest program wins.

I will probably do it in VB.
#3
I'll work on it today in vb.net. Why such a short timeframe?

You have two days to complete it. Profile posters on gaia are easy to make. Should take 15 minutes max.

Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic 2008 (vb.net), or PHP / javascript, in one of these languages only.

Boo! Should be allowed to use any language you want. ;D

This.

Also, to clarify? can not use someone else source code.
I assume then, that 100% of the code must be yours? No using somebodies socket/winsock class, no pre-existing functions, everything made by you?

What the fuck is a profile poster?

The profile posting code must be yours. Wrappers can be somebody elses. Thought people understood that.

Silly, can't expect anyone to re-write a socket class when there are working ones out there! :D

I wonder why people don't use Python more. It's much more faster to code in than VB and most other languages. :P

Too bad I can't participate due to finals. ;-;

You don't have to get captcha if you post on a friends profile or your own. test it on that.

Is that what you want the program to be?

Yeah I have everything coded but the wrappers failing. Is the one you posted supposed to be for a specific version of visualbasic, I'm used vb.net 2010.

vb.net 2010 has some slight differences in it. The wrapper it's self was created in vb.net 2008 so it's different.

Mkay ill just remake my program in that.
#17
Yay no one entered, except me, sort of. I had all the code I'll post the source up here. I talked to Chad about a problem with my VB.NET and nothing. He didn't know/couldn't solve it but that my code was okay.

Gonna program it in python and release it :) sometime within the next week.
