So you wanna make a fire pit huh?
Well heres how to do it in 5 easy steps
1. Dig A Hole 3x3x3
2. Fill the bottom with either cobblestone, or brick
3. Make the second layer cobblestone or brick AROUND a block of wood
4. Make the next layer the same, except for the block of wood in the middle
5. Light the block of wood in the middle with either fire, or Flint And Steel
Enjoy the fire!!!!!!
Fact:Throw raw meat into your firepit, and they will cook!

So instead of just placing a torch wherever I want, now I can increase the areas to 3x3x3 squares, use 17 valuable brick blocks, use my iron for fire, restrict my area to the ground only, and create a hazard of falling in and dying a horrible slow death.

I just wouldn't recommend this to those whom have wood houses. If I'm right, fire can jump up to three blocks.
