I hate that fucking abbreviation.
I don't think that's a valid (or proper) contraction.
Edit: http://grammar.about.com/od/words/a/...ntractions.htm
It's slang.
How're is just as valid as who're.
Also, who're is awfully close to whore.
How're you, and who're you to hate on that slang term?
I don't think that's slang. I think it's just terrible grammar.
Slang is generally a new word or a re-purposed word. "How're" is just an improperly contracted/mispronounced set of words.
I know it wasn't slang. But I'm sure we all understand what he meant. I was trying not to nitpick or anything like that.
Polemical thread.
Does it really matter?
melancholy:
Noun: A deep, pensive, and long-lasting sadness.
Adjective: Sad, gloomy, or depressed.
Synonyms: noun. sadness - melancholia - gloom - sorrow - dejection
adjective. sad - gloomy - melancholic - mournful - dismal - blue
My statement was a question as to if it really mattered, therefore its not melancholy.
