Git is an awesome DVCS. If you're a fan of version control perhaps, I can't see how you'd be using anything else. I personally use Git/SVN. At first git, much like OOP, seems more or less pointless, unnecessary and tedious. But then when you start using it, it becomes rather addicting and second nature to you. Once you host one project you can't help but to put another and another. It's a great organizational solution.
Should use it sometime.

Git for Windows is actually easy as pie. I think I'm going to write a few Git tutorials and stick them somewhere on LG when I get the spare time. Git for Windows being mostly graphical is a good way to get your feet wet with Git. Once you learn git statically (Windows), you'll also know it dynamically (CLI/terminal).
There is already a Git tutorial that GitHub made for the Windows release. It's really good, but like I said, I'm not even remotely motivated to learn it.
Eh, true. There's a lot of tutorials out there. I've really never found any to be "in a nutshell" though. Arbitrary tutorials sometimes are the best kind.Quote:

What are you talking about? There's a GUI version of Git? The only one I've ever used on a Windows system is the terminal, and I found it fairly easy and not to complex at all. It almost reminded me of a UNIX/Linux terminal.Quote:

Lol. You can install Git on Windows easily and use it as you would on any other OS. As for the quality of the framework, Matt coded it all, so you can blame him, haha.
I'm not hosting any projects on Github. I have a private Gitolite server which I use to host my repositories.
We're referring to the GitHub for Windows project son. Maybe I should have been more specific when it comes to ambiguous topics like this.
