Leave a 100x100 gap in the bottom left corner. You can use paint or w/e. Upload it, edit it, screenshot it. To remove the banner just crop it.

I already have picasa and GIMP, photoshop took up way to much data for my tastes. Picasa links right up to Picnik though, which includes tons of things that Picasa doesn't (Like selective B&W), and it's convenient when I just want a quick touch up. I hate doing the 100x100 stuff because you still have to do all the premium options at the end of your editing or you'll have to keep uploading the same stupid picture repeatedly.
