Half-Life Series. Possibly BEST game EVER?

For PC at least. Its pretty freakin amazing. I own the entire series on steam. What are your thoughts on the series?

They were alright, but just another game truthfully, pre-scripted events were epic to witness the first time around but since they were scripted to happen the instant you hit a certain "zone", it became predictable and cut down the replay value.

Also what's up with half-life having its own forums? You'd expect something like MW2 or Borderlands to but Half-life has been dead for years.

Hmm, I don't know. I have heard some good things about it though. May I ask how much you paid for each of the versions?

EDIT: @ Torian, There have been requests to rename HL2 into Steam Games or something like that...

to be honest not the greatest series but a pretty damn good series and lots of fun to play all the way through

I couldn't play it, it was boring on the xbox orange box.
I got a kick out of beating portal and playing Team Fortress 2 though.

I have a copy of Half Life 2 and all the expansions on my Steam account but every time I play it I never get to far because I don't like PC gaming. If I got the Orange box for 360 I would probably love it but unfortunately I didn't so I can't really give it a good response.

Portal= greatest game of all time ever.... scratch that third greatest game of all time ever.

Portal was a great experience, don't know about it in terms of great game but it was an enjoyable form of art.

The Half-Life Series is great, but I wouldnt go as far to say its the best game ever, Not one of my Fav's if im honest. :)

Single handedly the greatest ENGINE ever made.
The HLEngine currently runs games such as CS:S off of it.
The games themselves are immence, good plot - a decent mix of combat and wit.
but the Engine is godly.

I own every game from the HL series, inc games like HL2:DM.
All for PC, also own orange box on xbox (:

They are very good games wouldn't say they are the best...

The best are the Halo series, and Fable series in my opinion...
