Hey i been thinking of getting into art ... (that and i have a book report due tommorow that requires a drawing of a little golden clock)
But how the heck do you draw a circle without some sort of tool of sorts? i always seem to end up with an oval or some sorta misshaped lines ... anyone have any fancy tricks to get around this problem without the using of a circle surface or some sort of tool to use?

Drawing a circle without tools?

hmm. I spent hours trying to draw a perfectly straight line or a perfectly straight circle... word of advice... (I would stop)
however, I found that if I made a plus mark that looked somewhat even, i could connect the quadrants and it would seem more circlishTo learn how to avoid getting banned while using an FLP click here.

The best way is to just do it really fast. If you spent a long time on making it perfectly straight, it won't turn out straight. Just take a pencil and make really light circles around the page, a bunch, then go over the base you put down darker. of course, it's easier when you're not on a computer n.n

The best way is the way Minora said.
At least for heads of characters.
But for an actual circle use the plus sign technique.

Hold a pencil then put ur ring finger on the paper..
Don't move it..
Then move the paper in circle and you should get a almost perfect circle

If you have a compass or any of those kinds of math tools from your other classes that would help. You could also just find something round and put it on the paper and draw the circle around it. If you really need to do it freehand, I think Google's way is the best bet. Good luck on the report.

tie a string to the pencil. Hold the other end of the string to what will be the centre of the circle. Just draw the circle, the string will do the rest.

My suggestion would be either to make one on the computer and trace it onto another sheet of paper.
Or
Use the lid of an object go around the outside and you should have a perfect circle...
