Planning on getting a Game today ADVICE NEEDED

After looking at reviews and such, I'm torn between....
Borderlands and Mass Effect 2

I'm leaning towards Borderlands because of the awesome arsenal.

Suggestions?

Borderlands if you like killing a lot with some pretty nifty storyline and insane amounts of weapons.

Mass Effect 2 if you like the party type of game, cool weapons, and really good storyline

Mass Effect 2 most definitely...It has a in depth storyline and you can make decisions on your own to effect the storyline...This is a no brainer

Personally I never got into Mass Effect. Just not entertaining to me. Got tons of good feedback but I hated it as a game.
I've heard stellar reviews of Borderlands, but haven't played it. I would go for it just because I hate Mass Effect.
The only other game I can suggest is Darksider because its freakin awesome. One of the best games I've played in a while. Normally I'm don't keep single players, normally I beat them and go trade them for something else. Darksiders was so good I've played through twice, look to play through again and won't trade it which is why I don't have Borderlands.

Get borderlands, shit is so fun. The weapons have a huge range. :/

if you have xbox live (or any kind of live of that matter) get borderlands hands down its just an amazing game. i got it like 4 weeks ago and i cant stop playing it.

But:

if you dont have any connection, or friends that play border lands for that matter, get mass effect 2.

they both are good games so dont be torn if you get one over the other

I heard borderlands is pretty good

Do you have a bunch of friends on Live, enjoy shooters, and don't care about story? Get Borderlands.
Do you like story-focused games and RPGs with tons of depth? Get Mass Effect. (Or Dragon Age).

You should get around to playing both somewhere down the line, though. Excellent games.

The environments are all mostly the same, too.

Borderland beats mass effect hands down. Especially on the live play.

but thats IF you have live. without it your not getting to full experience

Most people have live but if you don't, then i guess mass effect is good but if your have the cash just buy both

You should play ME1 first, though.

Yep you should the first one. Its one of the only games that you have play the first.

Sadly enough, i got ME1 when it first came out and i still havent beaten it. I kinda lost tase in it
